I’m thankful for dogs
\nMy dogs,
\nTwo foster dogs, and the three mommies who said
\nOurs
\nMine<\/p>\n
For my mom who gave me room to make
\nbig mistakes
\nLook at all that room,
\nall those mistakes
\nFor Dad, an old dog who tries real hard
\nto learn new tricks
\nfrom his pups<\/p>\n
I’m thankful my sister
\nmade a decision to drop out of Bryn Mawr
\nfor\u00a0some guy
\n22 years and counting of that guy<\/p>\n
I’m thankful my friend humored me and emailed my brother
\non his 30th to say
\nHappy Birthday
\nand that my brother emailed back<\/p>\n
I’m thankful for\u00a0the little pitchers
\nthe eldest who says Yes
\nas often and with as much enthusiasm
\nas her dad (that guy)
\nfor the huggy loud destructive one
\nfor Darfy, even when sharing’s hard
\nfor the one who wrinkles her nose with every Cheese
\nand the little guy that roars<\/p>\n
