Friend:<\/strong> This is delicious, [hostess], and speaking of which <\/em>(turning to me), let’s talk about your blog.<\/em><\/p>\n Other friend:<\/strong> What about it?<\/em><\/p>\n Me:<\/strong> I’ve been trying to do some cooking.<\/em><\/p>\n Friend:<\/strong> (laughing) Ugh, what WAS that ham and lima bean and mozzarella thing<\/a>?<\/em><\/p>\n Me:<\/strong> (hanging head) I’m TRYING.<\/em><\/p>\n Friend:<\/strong> You just need to learn a few basics, like soup and chicken.<\/em><\/p>\n Me:<\/strong> I tried to bake some chicken. It didn’t work.<\/em><\/p>\n Friend:<\/strong> What did you do?<\/em><\/p>\n Me:<\/strong> I coated it in a chicken spice and put it in my toast-r-oven at 400.<\/em><\/p>\n (peals of laughter from all parties)<\/p>\n Friend:<\/strong> You can’t cook chicken in a toast-r-oven!<\/em><\/p>\n Me:<\/strong> Why not? It’s a toast-r-OVEN<\/strong>. Gah! <\/em><\/p>\n Friend:<\/strong> How much chicken did you put in there?<\/em><\/p>\n Me:<\/strong> Four breasts.<\/em><\/p>\n (more peals)<\/p>\n Me:<\/strong> WHAT?!<\/em><\/p>\n Friend:<\/strong> So what happened?<\/em><\/p>\n Me:<\/strong> I couldn’t get it up to the right internal temperature, so I had to resort to the regular oven, but then it just turned to rubber.<\/em><\/p>\n By the way, that was two weeks ago, and it’s still in my fridge.
